Gaiv Tata is an expert international development consultant in private sector development, financial sector development and development finance.

He worked with the World Bank for 28 years and held senior positions including as: Director, Financial and Private Sector Development in Sub-Saharan Africa; Director, Global Practice on Financial Inclusion and Infrastructure; Deputy Director of 2005 World Development Report on Investment Climate; and Manager, Resource Mobilization for the International Development Association.

Since 2015, in addition to the assignments undertaken by the firm, Gaiv has also undertaken other assignments including:

  • Private Sector Development. Review of two multi-donor programs with global coverage i.e. Competitive Industries & Innovation and Jobs; review of Ghana's Private Sector Development Program; and development of a new diagnostic tool for Private Sector Development (PSD) for IFC.

 

  • Financial Sector Development. Review of the World Bank’s financial sector program in Indonesia and support to a review of Ethiopia's state-owned financial institutions.

 

  • Concessional Finance.  Ongoing support - as lead consultant - for the World Bank Aid Architecture report series; Evaluation of Asian Development Fund Twelfth and Thirteenth Replenishments - responsibility for reviewing concessional finance and resource allocation methodologies; review of the business model and organization structure of the Islamic Solidarity Fund for Development which is a waqf/Islamic endowment; and support to the African Development Fund replenishment paper on non-concessional borrowing.
